Engineering New Zealand (ENZ and was previously IPENZ) currently assesses and approves Chartered Professional Engineers (CPEng) on behalf of the government. This is under legislation called The Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Act - 2002.
CPEng members are generally required to sign documents certifying design and or construction to satisfy council requirements.
